Establishing a new local association for private forest owners

Working closely with the National Association of Private Forest Owners (NAPFO), a workshop was organized by CNVP Kosovo on Thursday, 1 March 2018 in the municipality of Drenas. The purpose of the meeting was to establish a new local associations for private forestry owners in the municipality. The event was attended by members of NAPFO, representatives of the municipality, forestry sector experts, and delegates from most of the villages in the municipality.

Based on positive results observed elsewhere, representatives of Drenas municipality and its forest owners initiated the establishment of a local association to develop forestry activities, as well as promote the development of non-wood forest products by women and rural youth. This is the 23rd local association for private forest owners that has been created with the support of Strengthening Sustainable Private and Decentralized Forestry, the Sida-funded project that is being implemented by CNVP Kosovo.
