On 25 September 2018, CNVP Albania attended with other CSOs a meeting organised by the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC). One of a series of meetings, this event focused on Youth Policy and Participation in Albania.

EESC’s core function is based on a two-level approach:

  1. Regional, involving the Western Balkans Follow-up Committee, the role of which is to (a) monitor changes in the political, economic and social situations in Balkan countries, and (b) address topics of interest such as transport, rural development, employment and energy policy; and
  2. Bilateral, including the drafting of opinions on selected EU policies.

The Western Balkans Civil Society Forum, which is part of the work of the Follow-up Committee, provides an opportunity to exchange views on the current situation of civil society in Albania, as well as review its needs and future developments.

An open invitation has been issued to take part in a civil society online public consultation entitled EU Presidency priorities 2019-20.

CNVP Albania’s attendance at these meetings will allow it to establish important contacts within and outside the Western Balkans Civil Society Forum, as well as understand better the ongoing EU accession process
