CNVP joined the observance for the International Day of Rural Women (15 October) by co-organizing a fair in Pristina with more than 20 women-led agrobusinesses in close cooperation with EcoKosWomen EKW.

Women and Youth Producers Groups from different municipalities in Kosovo established with the support from CNVP, along with other agrobusinesses supported by EcoKosWomen, showcased their homemade and delicious products, while the visitors had the opportunity to taste and buy them.

The Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Rural Development, Faton Peci, expressed his support for rural women, which as he said “have broken the stigma that agriculture is a hard work and only for men”.

"Our mission is to transform the agro-rural economy by making it inclusive, productive, sustainable and competitive in the domestic and foreign markets", emphasized Peci.

The women who participated in the fair express their satisfaction for the opportunity to display their products in the center of Prishtina, and called on visitors to buy local organic products and help small rural economies.

Organization of the fair was supported by the SUNREED project funded by the Embassy of Sweden in Pristina and implemented by CNVP, as well as by SIRED project funded by the Austrian Development Cooperation - Austrian Development Agency and implemented by Caritas Switzerland and its partner, EkoKosWomen EKW.

The International Day of Rural Women (15 October) is celebrated globally each year to celebrate women and girls who play a key role in rural areas enhancing agricultural development. This year’s theme is “Rural Women Cultivating Good food for All”, to highlight the essential role that rural women and girls play in the food system of the world.
