Working meeting between CNVP North Macedonia, Mountaineering Club

On November 16, at the  Shara Mountain Info Center in Tetovo, a working meeting was held between the teams of CNVP North Macedonia, Mountaineering Club "Ljuboten" and CED Tearce. The purpose of the meeting was to jointly discuss the planned project activities for the next period within the project “Sustainable use of natural resources for transboundary socio-economic development of protected areas in North Macedonia and Albania (Shar, Korab-Koritnik and Albanian Alps)“.

A short presentation about the concrete project was made by the CNVP team, emphasizing the main project milestones, expected results and impacts, beneficiaries, and partners. It was clarified that the focus of the project is the entire region of the Shar mountains, Korab-Koritnik to the Albanian Alps.

Then the representative from the Mountaineering Club "Ljuboten"presented the work plan for the coming year, which includes activities such as: visits and collaborations with other info centers in the region, development of mountain tourism by identifying tourist workers on Shar Mountain and creating joint tourist packages, as well as the preparation of a strategy for arranging the trails on Shar Mountain.

The representative of CED Tearce emphasized that the focus of their work for the coming year will be on Vrapchište and Tearce, collaborations and helping entrepreneurs in the field of branding, creation of business plans and networking.

At the end of the meeting, the teams came to the conclusion that there is a space for joint activities and agreed to sign a memorandum of cooperation in the near future.

The project ’Sustainable use of natural resources for transboundary socio-economic development of protected areas in North Macedonia and Albania (Korab-Koritnik, Shar and Albanian Alps)’’ is implemented by CNVP, with financial support from PONT. The project aims to promote sustainable use of the natural resources, monitoring, and management of important habitats and species through the provision of and support to local communities for creating a better socio-economic life in harmony with nature.
