Meeting between CNVP North Macedonia team and Association of Women Farmers – Moja Farma

On November 18, a working meeting was held between the CNVP North Macedonia team and the Association of Women Farmers – Moja Farma from Gostivar. The purpose of the meeting was the implementation of the project "Sustainable use of natural resources for transboundary socio-economic development of protected areas in North Macedonia and Albania (Korab-Koritnik, Shar and Albanian Alps)", and discussion about possible further collaborations and joint initiatives.

At the beginning of the meeting, the president of the *Moja Farma association briefly described the beginnings and development of the association. 

The CNVP North Macedonia team presented the project to the founders of the association and highlighted the main goals as well as the expected results of the project.

There is a large space for further future initiatives and collaborations, which will be specified in the future by signing a memorandum of cooperation between the two organizations. 

The project "Sustainable use of natural resources for transboundary socio-economic development of protected areas in North Macedonia and Albania (Korab-Koritnik, Shar and Albanian Alps)" is implemented by CNVP, with financial support from PONT. The project aims to promote sustainable use of the natural resources, monitoring, and management of important habitats and species through the provision of and support to local communities for creating a better socio-economic life in harmony with nature.

*Founded in 2010, the Moja Farma association currently has over 40 active members, the association is consists of women from different nationalities and different ages (from 20 to 60 years old). Mainly women farmers are engaged in animal husbandry (processing of milk and milk products), fruit growing (growing of plums and production of jams, sweets, juices), cultivation of hazelnuts - sale of hazelnuts but also a production of hazelnut spreads, beekeeping,  gardening and all agricultural crops – corn, wheat, barley, rye. They also grow vegetables, tomatoes, peppers, beans and sell them in local markets.
