Within the EU-funded project Rural Youth assisting Macedonia in EU integration, workshops for peer education have been held in Delcevo, Strumitsa, Pehcevo and Stip. Participants have had the opportunity to improve their knowledge of:

  1. the European Union and European policies;
  2. the criteria used for EU accession; and
  3. the role of youth in helping the EU integration process in Macedonia.

During the workshops, young people have identified the following needs:

  • establishment of local youth clubs;
  • organisation of training/workshops for young people;
  • knowledge, education and ideas;
  • investment in young people;
  • decentralization of youth opportunities;
  • recognition of Macedonian diplomas when joining the EU;
  • networking of youth organisations;
  • establishment of a youth parliament; and
  • availability of free courses for foreign languages.

The EU-funded project is being implemented by CNVP Macedonia.
